Message from the Chief

The Shelbyville Fire Department is a proud and history laden organization. We trace our roots back to the late 1800's as a volunteer bucket brigade. Today, we are a professional department with three stations, 58 members, several tactical teams, and the latest in technologically advanced equipment. We also provide the only advanced life support EMS service in Shelby County.

As you can tell, much has changed in the way our department looks from our origins to today. One thing has remained the same since our inception at the Shelbyville Fire Department: Our desire to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Shelbyville and Shelby County. We will work our hardest to continually improve the level of care and protection we provide our citizens. This is my pledge to you.
If I, or any member of the Shelbyville Fire Department, can ever be of service to you or your organization, please feel free to contact us.

Stay Safe!!

Professionally,
Chief Todd Anderson
Shelbyville Fire Department
